Quantrex reports record clean energy output in 2026

Astrid Lindqvist
Chief Executive Officer
The first quarter of 2026 saw Quantrex generate more renewable electricity than in any previous quarter in the company's history. Eighteen gigawatts of operational capacity delivered clean power across twenty four countries with an average portfolio capacity factor of 42%.
Quantrex generated 18.7 terawatt hours of clean electricity in the first quarter of 2026. That is 23% more than the same period in 2025 and the highest quarterly output in the company's twelve year history as a renewable energy business.
The north sea Atlantic
Offshore wind was the strongest performing segment of the portfolio. The North Sea and Atlantic wind farms recorded an average capacity factor of 52% during the quarter driven by a series of sustained high pressure weather systems that delivered wind speeds consistently above the long term average.
Nordvik Array alone generated 1.4 terawatt hours during the quarter its highest ever quarterly output. Atlantic Deep which remains in development contributed nothing to the quarterly figure but is on track to add significant capacity when it reaches commissioning in 2029.
Solar performance
Solar performance was equally strong. Atacama Sur in Chile and Rajasthan Sun in India both delivered above budget output during the quarter benefiting from La Niña weather conditions that reduced cloud cover across both sites. The Iberian solar portfolio including Solara Plains and Murcia Plains delivered output 8% above the long term average.
The real advantage
Astrid Lindqvist Chief Executive Officer commented on the results. This is a quarter that demonstrates the real advantage of a diversified renewable portfolio. When wind is exceptional offshore it lifts the whole company.
When solar conditions are favorable in Chile and India those assets punch above their weight. The portfolio is designed to be resilient across different weather conditions and different geographies and that design is working exactly as intended.
Significant carbon displacement
The record output figure translates into significant carbon displacement. Quantrex estimates that the 18.7 terawatt hours generated in the first quarter displaced approximately 7.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide compared to the equivalent generation from a gas fired power plant. That is equivalent to taking 1.6 million cars off the road for a full year.
Full first quarter financial results will be published on 19 May 2026 in accordance with Quantrex's standard reporting calendar.
