Charging the Netherlands at scale

The Netherlands has one of the highest rates of electric vehicle adoption in Europe and one of the most demanding charging infrastructure requirements as a result. Zero Grid Charge was developed to meet that demand at national scale with a network designed to serve every type of driver from urban commuters to long distance freight operators.

The network spans 180 locations across the country from city center fast charging hubs to motorway service area installations to residential community charging clusters in new housing developments.

Infrastructure built for every driver

Zero Grid Charge operates three distinct charging formats matched to the needs of different drivers and locations. Urban hubs serve city dwellers and short range commuters with fast charging sessions of under thirty minutes. Highway installations serve long distance drivers with ultra fast charging capable of adding 300 kilometres of range in under twenty minutes. Residential clusters serve communities where home charging is not available.

Every point on the network accepts all major payment methods and all vehicle connector standards with no subscription or membership required.

Type 2 AC connectors at all destination and residential locations

Open payment via contactless card and app

Real time availability displayed on Quantrex app and third party navigation platforms

100% renewable powered

Every charge on the Zero Grid Charge network is matched on an hourly basis to renewable energy from Quantrex generation assets in the Dutch and North Sea region. That matching is not based on annual averages or third party certificates. It is a direct hourly link between generation and consumption verified by an independent auditor and reported transparently in the Quantrex annual sustainability report.

When a driver charges at a Zero Grid Charge location they can be certain that the energy entering their vehicle came from a Quantrex wind turbine or solar panel in the same grid zone within the same hour.

From grid to vehicle

Zero Grid Charge operates its own energy management platform that continuously optimizes when and how energy flows to each charging point based on grid conditions renewable availability and real time demand at each location. The platform reduces grid demand charges reduces the cost of renewable energy procurement and ensures the network operates profitably even at high utilization.
